Hi friends,

I know it’s been a little while since I’ve provided an update on how Dominic has been doing, so I wanted to pop in and let you know what’s been going on over here.

Little boy in pajamas holding two stuffed animal dogs on his head.

Here’s the rundown:

Dominic had his follow-up MRIs a little over two weeks ago, which showed that the larger of the two spots had decreased in size. The next day, he began a five-day cycle of immunotherapy paired with low-dose chemo, which he finished last Monday. Two days later, on Wednesday, he began radiation to both spots. It’s 10 days of radiation, which runs only on weekdays, so he’ll finish that up early next week.

His counts have remained pretty stable, and while he didn’t feel great for the first day or two following immunotherapy, he bounced back relatively quickly and has had an appetite and energy.

It’s been a lot and has felt like a marathon since that first week of September, but we’ve also got a lot accomplished in terms of tackling the relapse.

The short-term plan is for Dominic to do another cycle of immunotherapy at the beginning of November, then they will redo allll of his scans to see how things look. The results of those scans will determine the plan after that.

Thank you all for your countless messages, emails, prayers, and support for Dominic and our family. We appreciate it all so much. Please keep the prayers coming! ❤️

I hope to get back to a regular cadence of Friday Things and other content next week as we head into the holiday months and our schedule slows and becomes less frenzied than it has been in the last six weeks. Thank you all for your patience.

P.S. I tend to update Instagram with stories a little more frequently, so if you’re not already following me there, you can find me @thebrowneyedbaker.
