The Weekend Dish: 9/12/2020
Happy happy weekend to you!!
I remarked to my husband at dinner last night that now that Joseph is in school full-time five days a week, the weekends actually sort of mean something again. I’ve been working from home for over 13 years, so it’s been a long time since I’ve felt the grind of a five-day school or work week, kind of crazy!
How was your week? Did you have kids starting school this week? No matter what you did, I hope you enjoy your weekend! xo

That is wonderful to hear, and you deserve a break from food once in awhile…and how wonderful that your family not only gets to enjoy being with the rest of your family but they also get to enjoy their meals too (and you and hubbie too). It is one of my most precious memories with my Grandparents is sharing a meal. Later in their lives my Grandma’s cooking became much simpler but everything always tasted sooooo good. The cliche “made with love” is so true. Even instant coffee tasted good in her kitchen.
Thanks for responding. I know lots of us were bugging about your Sunday menus lol. But it’s nicer to hear you are simply getting to rest and enjoy.
Hope you get to go back to your Sunday gatherings soon. Even if they’re just occasionally or distanced a bit. Miss your stories and Sunday menus.
Hi Macy, We have been seeing our families on the weekend, either Saturday or Sunday, but it’s spent outside and we really haven’t been doing too much variety in terms of food. My kids adore my father-in-law’s “sauce pasta” so he makes that nearly every week, and/or eggplant Parmesan, meatballs, sausage, etc. My mom has made some baked ziti and my kids beg for her fruit salad, we have some cheese and crackers, chips and dip, or veggies to snack on, and I usually bring whatever dessert recipe(s) I’m testing that week :) Hope that helps shed some light!
