Einstein and Duke have some very exciting news to share…
The BEB family is expanding, and no, we are not getting another dog ;-)
WE’RE HAVING A BABY!!!
I am 14 weeks today and little (two-legged) baby brother or sister is due to arrive around January 12, 2015. We are SO excited and I’ve been dying to tell you all!
No crazy cravings yet, and only one specific food aversion. You may have noticed a drop off in recipes containing, of all things… chocolate. Ugh! I can do a little chocolate if it’s in something else, like a chocolate swirl in ice cream, or a peanut butter cup (!), but forget about things like chocolate ice cream, cake or brownies. I haven’t wanted it at all, and when I do eat just a little bit, I feel sick. What a bummer, I hope this passes!

Aside from some nausea during weeks 6-10, the only other really negative symptom I’ve had is some mind-numbing exhaustion. Holy crap, some days I was almost in tears just because I was SO TIRED. I’ve never been much of a napper (well, since college, anyway!), but napping has become an almost daily occurrence for me. Some days I know I need to go lay down and sleep for awhile, and others I just randomly pass out on the couch.
On a positive note, I finally have the beginnings of a bump! I was so excited to start seeing a belly show up :)
(Apologies for the dog hair all over my shirt – the pups are shedding like crazy right now and I was hugging them before we took this picture.)

Congratulations Michelle! I am so glad you are feeling better and what a cute announcement! Where did you get those shirts for your pups? I just had my first baby in May, what an exciting experience!!!
I got them at Kohl’s in the Boys 4-7 department :) As you can see, the size 7’s barely fit, lol.

Congratulations. I remember that mind-numbing exhaustion. Just remember how much work your body is doing right now to build a tiny human. Remembering that certainly made me feel more productive on days when I didn’t seem to manage anything else. Enjoy this first season of motherhood, it is beautiful.

I just KNEW that’s what you were going to say as soon as I saw the subject line. My biggest congrulations to the entire bloomin’ family, especially Einstein and Duke. You couldn’t have any better 4-legged big brothers for a little one. Lucy, who has been known to just plow into me or any adult as if you’re not even there, walk so gently and so delicately around a little toddler just learning to walk that it left me speechless, she even controlled her tail, all without me having to say a word to her about being “easy”. But it shouldn’t surprise any of us, after all, goldens are known as the “mothers” of the dog kingdom. They’ll try to mother and care for almost any sort of baby or injured creature.

BTW, forgot to add that in January, I was the one who made the cake for the gender reveal party. I made an actual 3-D baby to top a full sheet cake, which I torted and filled with fresh raspberry filling laced with framboise. That day between when I found out , and until the cake was cut, was one of the longest days of my life! Anyway, if you can send me an email address, I’ll send you pictures.
