Friday Things #548

1. My babies still love to pile on top of me on the couch, xoxo
2. Last week, I volunteered for Joseph’s class party and I am secretly so thrilled that he is still happy and excited for me to help in his classroom. Also, fourth graders are so sweet!
3. I saw this pop up on Instagram last week and boy, it caught me off guard and really made me stop and consider the weight of it: “Time is the only currency you spend without ever knowing your balance. Use it wisely.”
4. I discovered puzzle advent calendars this week and I am so excited to do this this year! The one I linked has multiple different scenes to choose from.
5. We have a lit advent calendar that looks almost exactly like this (ours isn’t personalized and the inside is a sleigh) and I have little slips of scripture verse in each box that tells the nativity story throughout the month. I am going to love incorporating a little extra puzzle each day!
6. I made my favorite chili recipe this week and it completely hit the spot! We love it topped with shredded cheddar, sour cream, and Fritos :)

7. I love this (from a James Clear newsletter) >> Dutch watchmaker and writer Corrie ten Boom on worry: “Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.”
8. I wanted to share that if you happen to be shopping either of these places this holiday season, using a special link or coupon code will donate money back to Band of Parents (with no extra cost to you). This is an organization that funds neuroblastoma research. They have funded the immunotherapy treatment that Dominic received, as well as the vaccine clinical trial that he is currently enrolled in.
- See’s Candies (the link goes directly to the Band of Parents page and you can shop from there, will be active until 12/6/24)
- Minted.com (enter code FUNDRAISEBANDOFPARENTS and you will also receive 20% off all cards and gifts)
9. We have been watching the new season of Lioness (Paramount+); such an amazing show!
10. TGIF! Cozy pup alert…

We’re expecting 80+ degrees next week but I ordered the See’s gift certificates so I can pick up chocolates at the local store. Thanks for posting the link – not only do I get to buy delicious chocolates but it also helps with such a worthy cause! That’s a win-win in my book!
Love the James Clear quote, so true! I bought each of my two children’s families refillable Advent calendars a couple of years ago. It is so fun, and a little challenging, to find small enough fillers for each of my 4 grandchildren. I do fill them with a small wooden piecesd nativity scene that I spread out throughout the calendar. This year I also found a cute cut out 30 day Christmas (dad jokes) on Etsy and I’m sure they will get a kick out of. Thank you also for the links to help donate. See’s candies are the best!
See’s candies are the best!! I will certainly order some this year.
