1. My cousin got Isabelle a little cross-body purse for her birthday last month, and she is absolutely loving it. She wears it around the house, and anytime we go out 😄 It’s so cute, and she feels so grown up!

3. These two 😍 they are always trying to extend their hangout at bedtime :)

4. The final countdown is on to the end of the school year… less than 10 school days left! This year has felt equal parts long and, having sped by in the blink of an eye, crazy.

5. I always appreciate a reminder that worrying about tomorrow is just stealing today’s joy:

“Worrying about the future is like watching a leaf fall and trying to predict where it will land. Stop trying to guess where the wind will blow and get to work.”

6. Earlier this week, I made sure my angel food cake recipe and broccoli salad recipe were fine-tuned for summer… two of my warm-weather favorites!

7. And while we’re on the subject of summer recipes, this week, the students in Isabelle’s class had to present a few facts about a different country they had been assigned to learn something about and were encouraged to share some food from that country with the class. Isabelle got Australia, so she brought in pavlova! I used my regular pavlova recipe, but instead of making a large one, I scooped out individual-sized ones and used a spoon to make a little well in the center of each one. It was perfect for dropping a few blueberries and chopped strawberries in the middle. Isabelle said the class loved them!

8. On another food note (and in total May-cember mode over here), I also made everyone’s favorite chocolate chip cookies as a contribution to the kids’ field day tomorrow. I’m so glad there’s extra for at home, too! :)

9. We started watching Gotham last night; Benjamin McKenzie has a main role, and as soon as I saw him, I remembered him from the show The OC, which was on in the early 2000s. I loved watching it in my early 20s!
