Gender Reveal!

It’s gender reveal time for baby #3! (Do you have an inkling one way or the other?)
The last two times we’ve had to wait until the 20 week ultrasound to find out the sex, but this time I took advantage of NIPT testing. It’s a blood draw that separates out the baby’s DNA and screens for chromosome abnormalities early in pregnancy, and it also reads the sex chromosome, so that information is available if you want it. Most importantly, all of the screenings came back normal, and we took advantage of finding out the sex early!
We knew for a few weeks before we spilled the beans, since everyone had been passing around this crazy cold and we hadn’t all gotten together in nearly a month. Needless to say, everyone had been on pins and needles waiting to hear the news.
I don’t think we did any official “gender reveal” thing when I was pregnant with Joseph, we just called our parents with the news. With Dominic, I made cupcakes with a blue frosting filling so everyone had to bite into them to find out. This time around, my husband devised a scavenger hunt which was seriously SO MUCH FUN. (I wrote those cards, but he came up with all of the clues… again, he has all of the creative genes in our marriage!)

We didn’t go too crazy with it – we had seven clues – but everyone loved it, and we loved making them work for the answer, ha!

The last clue led everyone to the oven, where I hid a box with the news…
I won’t make you wait any longer…
IT’S A….

GIRL!
I was shocked because I was pretty sure that I was destined to be a mom of boys! We’re very excited to welcome this little lady to our family in another five months or so, to see her and meet her. I feel like that’s the biggest anticipation of pregnancy for me… what will they look like? What will their little personality be like? It’s so exhilirating to see these babies become little people of their own :)
Thank you so much for sharing in our excitement and joy as we grow our family!

A baby sister with two big brothers….life doesn’t get much better 😗😙😗
Yippee a girl!!! Congratulations to all of you! I loved how you did the gender reveal! Very creative!
Michelle, I couldn’t wait for today. I look forward to your Friday posts to see what your adorable boys are up to. So excited for you and your family. I am sure that Joseph and Dominic will be very protective of their little sister. So happy for all of you.

Congratulations! So excited for you! Happy, healthy vibes for the rest of your pregnancy!
What a blessing! Congratulations.
Destined to be a Mom, period. I know you will enjoy a little girl very much. Such adventures await you.
Congratulations! I was hoping it was a girl!
Congratulations on your new baby-on-the way! Here’s to everyone being happy and healthy.
What a fun way to do the reveal! We did the early screening with our second as well (glad there’s at least one perk for being an “old” mom) so we were able to surprise people with the baby announcement AND gender around 13 weeks. I agree, though, it was tough holding onto the additional secret for three weeks especially since the testing gave us that sense of security. But we wanted the 13-week ultrasound before sharing.
Anyway, congratulations! I’m sure both boys will dote on their little sister.
Congratulations to you and your family, Michelle. And what a fun way to share the news 😀
Congrats…. how wonderful… a beautiful family…
Congratulations!
Congrats!!!!!!! So excited you are having a little girl :) Can’t wait to follow along.
Congratulations I too had two boys and our third was a girl but I didn’t believe my doctor until I was showed her to me! I went on to have a fourth that is a boy!
That is wonderful news. I grew up as 1 of three girls. My first was a girl so when I became pregnant with my second, I just assumed it would be a girl as well — that’s all I knew! But much like you with Joseph and Dominic, I found out I was having a boy at my 20 week ultrasound. I was thrilled he was healthy and excited to have a boy but what was I going to do with a boy? Turns out quite a lot. He and his sister are wonderfully different and I am grateful each and every day that I have the opportunity to have both a daughter and son. So excited for you and your lovely family!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
cOnGrATuLaTiOnS!!! That is our family too! Had the two boys and then…we had our princess…but mine are all grown now, our girl will be 21 in December…BUT for the life of me I would not find out the gender of our last baby (I knew we were not going for a 4th! I didn’t want to go threw the pregnancy saying “oh it’s another boy” if in fact it was…what a surprise we had at delivery! everyone was so excited! Michelle you love all your kids the same, you really do, but having a daughter is really nice…they are girls, they get it!! ;)
Congratulations! Children are such a gift. I have two girls and one boy — I love every minute of it! Blessings to you and your family!
Congratulations! I’m sure that Joseph and Dominic will be the best big brothers ever. 😊 May your daughter bring you even more blessings and joy to your family.
