The Weekend Dish: 10/28/2017
Hello last weekend of October…
What?! I’m in serious denial that November is going to be here on Wednesday. I mean, wasn’t it just 4th of July?! Looking at the extended forecast, I think I can FINALLY pack away all of the boys’ summer clothes. I think the cool weather is here to stay.
In other news, I managed to catch the nasty cold that my entire extended family has been passing around for the last month, so that’s been absolutely zero fun this week. I’ll be convalescing over the weekend… what do you have planned?!
As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week, the most shared recipes, my Sunday dinner menu, and recipes I’ve bookmarked from other blogs. Enjoy!
On Brown Eyed Baker This Week
Brownie Cake with Cookie Butter Frosting – A fudgy brownie is baked into a cake then topped with Biscoff frosting. An easy dessert perfect for company!
Brownie Mosaic Cheesecake – A luscious cheesecake with cubes of brownies baked right inside, with an Oreo crumb crust and chocolate ganache topping.
Friday Things – A visit from friends, trip to an orchard, Halloween, turkey fryers, and more…

Sunday Dinner Menu
Thanks to a continued rotation of this awful cold that keeps passing through our family, we’re going to skip Sunday dinner this week.
What I Bookmarked This Week
Recipes and posts from other blogs that I thought looked especially delicious and that I thought you would like, too:
I could eat an entire batch of this everything bagel popcorn… and now I’m craving an everything bagel, too!
I’m not huge on pumpkin pie, so I always appreciate alternative desserts at Thanksgiving; this maple walnut bundt cake looks amazing!
I’ve never stayed at a Ritz Carlton, but I’m absolutely certain I need to try these Ritz Carlton chocolate chip cookies.
Yes, please! >> Caramel Apple Crumb Bars
If you have an Instant Pot, please make these chili garlic instant pot noodles and tell me how amazing they are and how I really need to just get an Instant Pot already ;-)
Have a delicious weekend!
Congratulations!! First of all, I want you to know that I’m the type of person who reads the ending of a book before purchasing it. I can’t wait to find out how something ends. I read all of your post and did NOT jump ahead. At the end I cried I was so happy for you. Nothing like having two big brothers with a sweet little girl. Big hugs. I’m still smiling.Â
love these links and recipes, especially the rum cake! I forgot all about those, thank you for the reminder and for all of these
I made the Cinnamon Coffee Cake with Cream Cheese Icing today. Â Love the cinnamon. It is the best coffee cake ever! Â I will be making it for the holidays. Â Hope you feel better soon!
Michelle, get a darn instant pot ALREADY!!! And replace your crock pot, Â your pressure cooker and your rice cooker, if you have one. This pot does almost everything expect wash itself and makes the best, most tender and tasty meats and other ingredients! Â
The Instant Pot has changed my daughter’s life, as she feeds 3 boys (9,7,5) and a hungry hubby as well. We bought one and just love it. Â My hubby even took the Steelers crockpot to the garage to make space for Instant the Pot. Never thought I would see the day.
We have a Steelers crock pot too! HA!
Haha I don’t have a pressure cooker or rice cooker, but I think I’m seriously going to need to get one!
I hope you feel better soon. So many colds and viruses going around. Thank you for all you do (even when you don’t feel well). Your blog is always so interesting.Â
Thank you so much! xo
