How was your week? Are you doing anything wonderful this weekend? Does it include big blankets and lazy books and crosswords? We’re supposed to have some winter weather today so we’ll probably be hunkering down at home getting ready for Joseph’s birthday party tomorrow!

Happy Birthday to your little boy. Doesn’t seem possible he is going to be 5!. I am planting myself in front of the TV to watch the hometown team Kansas City Chiefs win the game to advance to the Super Bowl. High of 19 tomorrow in KC.

Oh Italian Cream Cake! That was THE  cake I would request my mom to make for my birthday when I was growing up. Its delicious and she always made it as a six layer. However, it’s now a hard choice between that and a good Hummingbird cake.Â
