The Weekend Dish: 1/19/2019

Happy winter Saturday to you!

Today is Joseph’s 4th birthday! I can’t believe our first baby, the one who continues to be our parenting guinea pig, is already turning into a little boy before our eyes. He’s becoming such a wonderful little person, and I’m SO proud and grateful to be his mom. While we were planning to celebrate with a party today, we postponed until next week due to the weather.

Are you in the path of loads of snow?? We’re supposed to get a good amount, but the forecasts have been super vague – anywhere from about 3 inches to a foot! I love a good snow storm, just have my fingers and toes crossed that no one loses power.

If you’re expecting severe weather from the storm, I hope you stay safe and warm!

On Brown Eyed Baker This Week

Ultimate Banana Bread – This single loaf of banana bread is packed with FIVE bananas(!), brown sugar, butter, chopped walnuts, and a sprinkle of sugar on top. It bakes up high, dense, and supremely moist. Ultimate indeed!

Hearty Beef Stew – This easy beef stew recipe is cooked in the oven for maximum flavor and ultra tender beef. Carrots, potatoes and peas make this a hearty one-pot meal.

Friday Things – A birthday, snow, winter jackets, an Ina recipe, and more…

This Week’s New Recipe Video!

Beef stew is a super nostalgic comfort food for me and I am so, so excited to have finally nailed a version that tastes the most like I remember my grandma’s tasting :)

Sunday Dinner Menu

No dinner planned this week due to the weather, but I bought everything I need for a big pot of that chili I just mentioned above! Also have what I need for quick beef stroganoff – it’s one of my husband’s favorites and the boys devour it, too.

What I Bookmarked This Week

I want to devour the entire platter of restaurant-style onion rings.

Chocolate Maple Cake – what a combo!

Rosemary Cheddar Irish Soda Bread for a little spin on your traditional soda bread.

This Teriyaki chicken salad with pineapple sesame dressing is right up my alley – LOTS OF STUFF!

Ooooh cannot wait to try this pecan cream pie!

Have a delicious weekend!
