The Weekend Dish: 11/3/2018
Happy November to you!
I don’t even know where this year has gone… I feel like I was pregnant with Isabelle approximately one million years ago at this point. But! Satellite radio started Christmas music on Thursday, and I am totally not ashamed to admit that I was rocking it yesterday. I’m ready.
Shall we take bets on how early Joseph and Dominic will wake up tomorrow morning? The morning after changing the clocks is always the WORST. Gah. On the bright side, however, it will be nice to have daylight outside before 8:30am… makes me not want to get out of bed in the morning!
What are you up to this weekend??
As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week, the most shared recipes, my Sunday dinner menu, and recipes I’ve bookmarked from other blogs. Enjoy!

What I Bookmarked This Week
Recipes and posts from other blogs that I thought looked especially delicious and that I thought you would like, too:
Cannot WAIT to make this easy skillet lasagna!
I adore tacos, but I’ve never done baked tacos… they look amazing! PLUS… homemade taco sauce, what?!
OMG, I am totally making homemade spaghettios for the boys!
Salted Maple Pecan Pie sounds like an amazing riff on traditional pecan pie (and no corn syrup is used!).
Whoa, these snack bars with Rice Chex, pretzels, M&Ms and a peanut butter-marshmallow sauce must be total heaven.
Have a delicious weekend!
I’ve made Smitten Kitchen’s version of the spaghettios, also without the finishing oil, and it’s very good. I’ll try the version without chickpeas.
Awesome to know, thank you!
I too hate Daylight Saving Time – it messes with my sleep for several days. I wish it would go away. Maybe this is a cause our wacko president could take up – get him off The Wall.
I always make my own taco seasoning and will double or triple the recipe, keeping it stored in a small Tupperware container. I’ve also slipped in some puréed veggies since the seasoning is “strong” enough to hide the flavors!
I totally love making my own seasoning too, I always keep a jar in the pantry! I’ve never made my own homemade taco sauce, though… I always insisted on having it to pour on top of my tacos as a kid ;-)
So love your blog…I always read your Sunday menu for ideas..and I’ve noticed u r putting just 1 item lately..no sides or desserts lol..my fave part..trust me I’m more shocked at all u can do and keep up with and still look so pretty…keep up the great work. Can’t wait to make many of the sides u posted on the list..might take me into next year but it will be fun trying these new dishes…we have similar likes in food items which is awesome for me😊
Haha! It just depends on what we’re having and how many people are coming. Enchiladas are pretty much a meal on their own and there was only a few of us this week, so didn’t think we needed any other food. For dessert I made my Better Than “Anything” Cake :)
Loving the Christmas music too!!! No mother would ever think time changing is a great idea.
My daughter is 12 and has never slept as late as your kids…6:30 is exceptional for her “so, yeah” as she would say. I enjoy your blog and check in frequently, thanks for writing.
You’re welcome Colleen, thanks for reading! :)
