Michelle, I haven’t received any emails from you in almost a month and was worried abut you and the family. Â So I logged on, and resubscribed. Don’t know what happened, but glad to get you back! Â Has anyone else experienced this? Have a great Christmas holiday.
Love all of your posts. Old, new it’s all good. There can only be so many” new” anything. Keep doing what your doing.
Hard to believe Christmas is in little over a week. What is on your Christmas menu? Do you have food in the a.m on Christmas morning? Cant wait to hear…
Hi Macy, Thanks for the kind words! I don’t actually do any of the cooking for Christmas Eve or Christmas day! On Christmas Eve my mom does seven fishes (things like fried calamari, smoked salmon spread, crab cakes, lobster bisque, linguine in clam sauce, etc.) and on Christmas day my mother-in-law does a beef tenderloin with twice baked potatoes. I’m contributing a rum cake for dessert :) I haven’t done any special breakfasts on Christmas morning, but am kicking around the idea of cinnamon rolls this year, we’ll see! Have a wonderful Christmas!!
I need to make that creamy tortellini soup! It looks really delicious. Will you be creating any new content this coming year? It’s been quite a while since you posted actual new recipes of your own so I was wondering what 2020 looks like for you. For most of this year I’ve only seen Friday Things and Weekend Dish, I miss coming to your website to see the new recipes you’ve posted. Cheers.
Hi Cary, I’ll still be posting regular content in 2020, including the monthly bake alongs! I have nearly 1,400 recipes on the site, and many of them are in dire need of being updated, both in terms of new, helpful photography with step by step photos, as well as updated recipe directions to ensure better success for readers. There will be a mix of new and new-and-improved recipes throughout the year. Have a wonderful holiday!
I was looking at  your recipe for the no=knead bread.  Do you think the reason it takes so long to rise is that there is only 1/4 t. of  yeast in the recipe?  Would a full measure of yeast – a whole packet – make the rise time less?  Would it have any difference on the texture?
Hi Michelle, Yes, it meant to have a little yeast and a slow rise to develop the flavor and crumb. Using more yeast would give you a quicker rise time, but it would have a different texture.
