Friday Things
1. Joseph had a new round of blood work done this week to test for the remaining nuts he has yet to pass in an oral challenge – Brazil nuts, macadamia nuts, pistachios, cashews and peanuts. It’s been about 18 months since he had bloodwork done, and nearly a year since he failed the pistachio oral challenge, so we’re checking to see if any of the numbers have come down and, if so, we’ll give the oral challenge(s) another shot. (Side note: the tech who drew the blood was amazing and she made a bunny out of the gauze and band-aid, so creative!)
2. I spent Tuesday at home with Isabelle getting a ton of computer work done while my husband took the boys to my in-laws. They had a blast in my father-in-law’s garden and I got to hang with my pretty lady :)
3. Totally trying this bacon-fried cabbage recipe – sounds delish!
4. This gorgeous Wolf Gourmet electric griddle arrived on my doorstop yesterday and I want to make pancakes and French toast for dayssss.
5. These If You Grew Up in the 80’s Memes are absolutely fabulous. Sometimes I totally miss simple days and nights.
6. Are you cooking out for Father’s Day this weekend? Put my best ever potato salad on your menu!
7. Thank you for all of the tips last week on picking watermelon! Pretty certain Facebook spies on me because less than 24 hours later, this farmer’s guide to selecting watermelon popped up on my feed. In any case, there are some good tips (and ones many of you shared!).
8. I bought a bunch of clothes during Nordstrom’s 40% off sale a couple of weeks ago and about half of them were winners (not bad for Internet shopping!). Some of my favorites: ruffled tank (got it in hot pink and bold green), twist hem top, flutter sleeve crochet detail top, Zella layer me pullover, and ruffle sleeve tee.
9. Wishing all of the dads out there a very Happy Father’s Day, and for anyone who is missing their dad this weekend, sending loads of hugs your way, xo.
10. TGIF! I hope you have a fantastic summer weekend!
The older she gets the more Isabelle favors Dominic. Do they resemble your husband or another family member?
The bacon fried cabbage sounds wonderful. Your best ever potato salad and my best ever potato salad differ by two ingredients: bacon and green bell pepper. I think the secret to any “best ever” potato salad is the amount of mayonnaise used — enough that it’s not too dry and not so much that it’s gloppy.
Hi Sally, Yes, Dominic is a spitting image of my husband! :)
Thanks for the well wishes for those of of who’ve lost their dads👍🏻🙏🏻 8 years now💝
Please enjoy your weekend. I love your posts💕🤗
You’re so welcome, it’s been 19 years since I lost my dad… so hard to believe that next year, I will have lived more of my life without him than with him. Hugs to you, xo
Looks like you two had some fun girl time – she is awfully adorable!
Yes, FB spies on us – you can alter the ads it shows you though, go into Privacy (I think) and play around with your ad preferences. You can also tell ads to go away by clicking on the top right corner of them where the three dots are and selecting the correct option. You’ll always see ads, but you can at least help direct the content you see pop up.
oh my goodness…all of the babies are so beautiful. Love the bunny bandaid–what a sweet nurse to take the time to do that. What a special touch. Is that Judith in the pic? Hard to tell these days—with Einstein, he was always the more mature looking doggie. I think this is Judith—Many blessings.
Thank you, Sophia! And yes, that’s Judith :)
Always enjoy your Friday posts. Hope this weeks test is good and the next also.
Have a nice weekend.
Always love your Friday posts of the kids. Hope this weeks tests is good and next one also. Have a nice weekend.
Your poor little guy — love that bunny bandaid though! I love Nordstrom — can’t wait to check out your recommendations!
I just want to say thanks for your blog. There is so much yuck in the world and it is nice to see pictures of dogs, happy families and yummy food. Just plain and simple. Have a great weekend!
Totally agree with Deb, thank you Michelle! Isabelle looks like your youngest son, so precious! Okay, I am thinking about going Keto, going to try that cabbage recipe, it looks so good. Thanks.
