The Weekend Dish: 2/15/2020
Happy mid-February weekend to you!
I hope that you had a wonderful week. Did you do anything special for Valentine’s Day yesterday? Are you celebrating this weekend? We took the boys to a car show at the convention center yesterday, then enjoyed takeout with our little party of five. It was the perfect Valentine’s Day ❤️️
As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week, the most shared recipes, my Sunday dinner menu, and recipes I’ve bookmarked from other blogs. Enjoy!
On Brown Eyed Baker This Week
New Orleans Bread Pudding with Bourbon Sauce – Old-fashioned New Orleans bread pudding layered with bourbon-soaked raisins then drizzled with bourbon sauce. A southern classic perfect for any holiday!
French Silk Pie – This creamy French silk pie starts with my favorite pie crust, is loaded with a smooth, mousse-like chocolate filling and topped with fresh whipped cream.

Would love to make this Momofuku Bossam – Korean slow cooked pork.
Four-ingredient mousse with NUTELLA!
Now I’m totally craving French onion soup.
Loving this Bermuda rum cake with coconut and caramel sauce.
I haven’t had KFC in yearsssss, but now I am craving that crunchy chicken and their mashed potatoes and gravy.
Have a delicious weekend!
I let my husband pick a Valentine’s dessert from your list, and he picked the Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars. I was hoping for something chocolate, but they were really good! I will make them again!
So funny you talked about KFC!
The other day my son said that he’s never had KFC, and after thinking about it I realized he’s right, he’s never eaten KFC, he’s 12!!!
Kind of a simple joy for Valentines Day…a couple of days before Valentines Day the Dollar Tree store out here by me in CA had nearly half of the store filled with Valentine balloons. Such a neat site to see. This year I just enjoyed as I drove by in the parking lot. On a prior year I was able to walk around in it😊💕 sometimes it’s the little things. What does your family like to get as takeout? I got a turkey sandwich today from local Italian place. What a treat….got a chocolate cannoli too. Yummy!
Our takeout options are fairly limited because of Joseph’s allergies, but on Friday, we got our favorite burgers! And they make some mean fried pickles too :)
Sounds yummy. A good burger is so under-rated sometimes. Glad u get to relax and enjoy sometimes. You sure deserve it.
Hi Michelle,
Just want to let you know how much I enjoy you
and your recipes! I did make the flourless chocolate cake for Valentine’s Day and it was amazing!
Pan prep was a little cumbersome, but the rest was so easy it totally made up for it! Thank you for sharing your family and your recipes.
