The Weekend Dish: 3/21/2020
Hello from my little self-quarantined corner of the world!
Are you planning any house or baking projects this weekend while you’re at home? Our office is still a massive area of clutter and disorganization for me, so I’d like to try to make some headway a little each day. Today seems like a good day to start!
As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week, the most shared recipes, my Sunday dinner menu, and recipes I’ve bookmarked from other blogs. Enjoy!
On Brown Eyed Baker This Week
Irish Soda Bread – Irish soda bread has a crisp crust and tender crumb, begging for butter. Make this recipe in one hour with simple ingredients!
Friday Things #363Â – Talking all things self-quarantine, of course! Talking through how we’ve been keeping busy at home…

Sunday Dinner Menu
Obviously no Sunday dinner this week! Not sure yet what I’m making for us; I did a big batch of meat sauce last week and have leftover in the freezer, so I may use some of that. I also have everything I need for my favorite chili, so that might happen at some point over the weekend, too.
What I Bookmarked This Week
30-minute caramelized shallot beef ramen noodles sound AMAZING right now.
I’ve never had Chinese garlic chicken but I want to make it ASAP.
Sounds fantastic if you have some pork chops in your freezer >> Honey Garlic Baked Pork Chops
I actually have a package of spaghetti squash from Costco, so may try to recreate this >> Cheesy Chicken and Broccoli Stuffed Spaghetti Squash
OMG YES! >> Buster Bar Ice Cream Dessert
Have a delicious weekend!
Thank you so much for continuing to write these blogs, Michelle, even though I know you must be struggling to keep your own household functioning normally. geometry dash subzero
Michelle, thank you for continuing to do these posts in the midst of trying to maintain normality in your own home. These are a piece of my “normal” and I look forward to reading about what is going out with your sweet family. Wishing you all the best…stay safe, sane and healthy.
I so agree. Your blog is such a bright steady light always. It was the highlight at the end of my workweeks and now in the midst of some new trying times it’s another steady brightness to so many I am sure. Thank you for your gifts to all of us😊
Your Vanilla Bean Rhubarb Ginger Scones recipe is my very favorite one! Â I will be making a double recipe for the freezer this afternoon. My only change is to make them thinner to be more flaky. This will finish my frozen rhubarb and grocery store visits will not be as often now. Nuts.com is my favorite source for the ginger or any dried fruit. Everyone please stay safe!
