The Weekend Dish: 3/18/2017
Hello hello!
Did you have a fantastic week? If you got a massive amount of snow where you live, I hope you’re all shoveled out and weren’t inconvenienced too much. We didn’t get much of anything here, but it has snowed a little bit off and on all week.
Tell me about your St. Patrick’s Day eats! Did you make anything special?
And are you following March Madness? It’s the only time all year I pay attention to college basketball. Only because I fill out a bracket for fun with my husband and some of our friends, but I’m ultra-competitive, so I refresh it like a mad woman for two days straight. Current standing: 19/24 picks correct and tied for 2nd place.
As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week, the most shared recipes, my Sunday dinner menu, and recipes I’ve bookmarked from other blogs. Enjoy!

What I Bookmarked This Week
Recipes and posts from other blogs that I thought looked especially delicious and that I thought you would like, too:
While the name “garbage bread” may not sound appetizing, I’m sure I could devour the entire thing myself in one day!
I haven’t tried making it yet, but this certainly looks like the most amazing chocolate cake.
There might still be snow on the ground, but I wish this Reese’s ice cream cake was in my freezer!
I’m not a coffee drinker, but I’m PRETTY SURE this homemade toasted marshmallow coffee creamer could change my ways.
Burnt sugar fudge layer cake with peanut butter mousse? Yes, yes, yes!
Have a delicious weekend!
St. Patrick’s Day is not much of a celebration in our house, but I do usually try to make something to go along with the day. Â It usually falls flat in the fantastic meals column, and it’s probably because we don’t make a big deal out of it. Â Oh well . . . Â We did go to the Home & Garden show last night and enjoyed dinner at Ten Penny. Â Have you ever been? Â My first time there, but my husband has eaten there several times. Â I am for sure going back and want to try their brunch. Â The snow falling in the city last night was magical! Â At home, we had no snow. Â It seemed to have fallen city and south?Â
Viva San Guiseppi!!Â
Our family had our St. Joseph’s Table last Saturday because some of the guys were attending the NCAA games in Buffalo, New York this weekend. Wonderful tradition! Hopefully our children & their children will continue what their grandparents began years ago. From the frittatas to the bread crumbs on the pasta con sarde to the cannoli & sfinge! A wonderful “gastric-experience”. Â
Happy Weekend! I love your Friday Things posts and Weekend Dish posts! So much fun. Plus a great re-cap of what you featured on your blog! I live in California and the weather has been in the high 70’s! I feel bad for everyone back east that got hit by that huge storm. Have a great weekend!! Xoxo
Oh you will not be sorry to try The Most Amazing Chocolate Cake!! It is now my go to recipe and I have no need to try any other. Even my husband who is not a chocolate fan loves this cake.
