The Weekend Dish: 11/7/2020

Happy weekend, friends!
I hope you are doing well that you are able to rest, recharge, and spend time doing the things you love this weekend. We’re enjoying some beautiful non-November-like weather here, with highs around 70 for a few days, so we’ll be outside enjoying it!
On Brown Eyed Baker This Week
Pumpkin Cheesecake – The November Bake-Along recipe! This perfectly decadent pumpkin cheesecake has a gingersnap crust and a thick, creamy filling. Using common pantry items, boxed cookies, and canned pumpkin, this delicious recipe is a simple crowd-pleaser!

Buttermilk Pie Recipe – This buttermilk pie is easy to make and boasts a slightly tangy, slightly sweet filling that is smooth and creamy, with a lightly crackled sugary top. A Southern classic!

Thanksgiving Turkey Cupcakes – These easy-to-make turkey cupcakes are absolutely adorable (and delicious)! It's a great project to do with kids, a fantastic way to use up leftover Halloween candy (and a great excuse to make my favorite chocolate cupcakes and chocolate buttercream), and I guarantee that guests will gobble them up!

Friday Things #396 – Halloween, Costco finds, time change, snow, and more!

A fellow Pittsburgher loving this weekend weather right along with you! So.absolutely.gorgeous!!!!
Both Walmart & Aldi have cookies just like Samoas (caramel, coconut & fudge cookies) & they’re a little over $1! I happened onto them recently & kind of wish I hadn’t. They’re delicious – especially when cold from the refrigerator.
Recipes with a “twist” are always so much fun to make…just so you can say “you made it!”. This one sounds intriguing. Thanks for resurrecting it!
Super interesting Innkeepers pie…..cake in a pie crust what’s not to like😊. I now have beautiful pie plates (thanks to you) so I can try lots of new recipes. Trying to build up my baking tools in my 50’s lol. Better late than never.
I dont have a food processor or a blender. I did see on Macys site they actually sell blendor/food processor combo. Wondering if you think that would be an OK purchase for basics?
Thank you for sharing your adorable family pictures🥰Absolutely wonderful.
I grew up with Innkeeper’s Pie being called Funny Pie 😂 and it was a favourite in our household growing up! It’s a fun twist on a pie/cake combo and the fudge layer was always a hit! Sometimes my mom would purposely not marble the chocolate into the vanilla layer so that’s we’d get more fudge on the bottom 😋
Hi Michelle, I love all of your recipes and have been following you forever. I was curious, when will you be going back to your Sunday Dinner Menu. I miss it sooooooooo much. It was something I always looked forward to on my weekends. ❤️❤️
Oh i had forgotten about the Sunday dinner menu post!!! I assume it has to do with COVID-19 and not gathering as you would have on Sundays for the past months. (Makes me a little sad to think about that 😔.) Look forward to that making a comeback someday too!
