Friday Things #396
1. A Happy belated Halloween from my astronaut, race car driver, and “SUPER Belle” ❤️️
2. I try to buy whole milk yogurt for the kids whenever possible, but lately it’s been hard to find, so I was thrilled to see that Costco is finally carrying the Chobani plain whole-milk Greek yogurt. Score! My kids love it with a squeeze of honey, a sprinkle of cinnamon, and fruit mixed in.
3. And on another Costco note… I know people have had a crazy hard time finding canned pumpkin this year, but I just got a 3-pack of the large cans of pumpkin yesterday from Costco (through Instacart). So definitely check there if you haven’t been able to find it!
4. I say this every year, but it bears repeating… whoever decided that changing the clocks was a good idea for sure did not have small children 😴
5. I’ve been craving a batch of Ina’s outrageous brownies!
6. It snowed here earlier in the week! We saw giant snowflakes blowing around on Sunday afternoon and we woke up on Monday morning to maybe a little less than an inch? The boys burst into our room yelling, “It snowed! It snowed! Look outside!” My little snow-lovers 😍
7. Have you started thinking about Christmas baking or Christmas shopping yet? I’ll have lots of yummy recipes for you and updated gift guides happening soon!
8. Yes to the idea of fresh starts when we slip up!
9. We started watching the second series of Unsolved Mysteries on Netflix and there are some really good stories! What are you watching?
10. TGIF! Judith is queen of the couch 🤩
My kid loves yogurt also and its getting harder to find. the whole milk Greek yogurt up here in Alaska so I’ve started making it in the Instant Pot! If you use the Fairlife (or Costco “high protein ultra pasteurized” milk, you don’t even have to do the first heat/cool cycle. So easy!!
Hi Michelle, loved reading your blogs and i have made some recipes. I am asking for recommendation of starting a personal blog not for recipes another personal thing in my life.
I look forward to this blog! Recipes, beautiful children & the dogs. What could be better?
You have a beautiful family! Love hearing what their interests are and watching them grow & change. I try to make at least one of your recipes each week. I love the way your leather couch looks. Could you share what you use on it to keep it in such good condition.
Thanks for your joy grilled post! Totally adorable Halloweeners! 🙂
Watching the Queen gambit on Netflix
Ditto! Hooked at the first episode!
What amazing costumes! Waaaaaay cool!
Netflix: I haven’t watched any “series” shows yet but I did watch a sweet movie Faith, Hope, and Love. Breath of fresh air sweet touching movie.
I am trying to think of Christmas cookies to make! There are so many different ones to choose from! I do love Italian cookies! Is there a recipe with 5 ingredients or less for Italian cookies?
Your children are so adorable in their costumes.
I haven’t noticed a shortage of canned pumpkin where I am in Northern IL. I’m sure happy about that since I use a lot this time of year. Our one store had a great sale last week, so I did stock up on it…just to be on the safe side.
I love unsolved mysteries too!
Judith sure looks comfy….great pic!
A small street in my neighborhood that dead ends at the elementary school was blocked off for Halloween and all the residents put out tables with wrapped treats spread out and goodie bags for the kids. It was so great! Much more social for kids and adults alike. The fact that the weather was lovely and warm didn’t hurt either :)
Ooooh can’t wait for holiday baking!!! I made a french apple pie last weekend…yum! Ready for more pumpkin now. I have not had any problem finding it here in No. Cal. Our Costco has the 6 packs of the small cans of organic pumpkin.
Just finished The Queen’s Gambit…really enjoyed it! :)
I always enjoy seeing your 3 beautiful kids on Fr.i. Enjoy the recipes too!
Your kids are the essence of perfection. Love how excited they get about little things. Fabulous costumes btw!!! Keep these great pictures coming. You are a fantastic mother!!
Oh my, the kiddos look so adorable in their costumes! And Judith has the naptime on the couch down so effortlessly, I’m envious of her. We had snow that looked like your back porch on Monday, and yesterday and for the next few days we are hitting 18-19 deg. C. in Montreal…strange weather for November here.
Yeah, no one in our household is fond of the change of time clocks either, it just puts one’s body clock off. I can just imagine children and furry baby’s systems going haywire.
I’ve said this, but the weeks sure do feel like they’re speeding by. ….it’s friday again! Happy weekend all and stay safe.
The kids look adorable in their costumes!!! Tell them I was excited seeing the snow Monday morning also ! I love to be in by the fireplace & watching it snow ❄️ Also Michelle thank you for the update on the pumpkin at Costco!!! I love that place & I miss going in & looking around! Can’t wait to see your holiday recipes & gift guide !!! Thank you for all your great ideas & the wonderful pictures of the kids ! Also the puppies! Judith looks so comfy on the couch 😊😊😊
Your kiddos are beyond adorable! Love their costumes.
Whomever decided on the clock thing also, clearly, does not have dogs (who KNOW what time breakfast and dinner should be)!
My Christmas shopping is thankfully ALMOST done – just a few more stocking stuffers and 2 more gifts. We are almost a go for wrapping! LOL
Judith and the couch…lol…just like our dogs! The kids look do cute! I managed to find Libby Pumpkin a couple of weeks ago and bought 3 cans …..I also bought the canned cranberry sauce because that’s what my peeps like 😏
Love it! My husband also prefers the canned cranberry sauce ;-)
Libbys is by far the best canned pumpkin. I grew up near Morton, IL where it’s canned. Huge pumpkin festival there every year, complete with pumpkin queen, etc. Mountains of pumpkins at the canning plant. I know canned pumpkin is often squash – but if I had to guess, Libby’s is actually pumpkin! And yes to the canned cranberry sauce. Ocean Spray – we serve it straight out of the can, lines and all, but on a fancy cut glass dish!
Cute about the fancy glass dish. Our family would do the same thing…canned cranberry sauce w lines n all on fancy dish but we would try to smush out the lines lol. That sauce is great. Not too sweet not too tart, perfect😊
I need your patio furniture – where did you get it from?
Hi Linda! We got it from Levin Furniture about 7 years ago!
Hi, Michelle, If you haven’t watched ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ on Netflix, you must! Simply the best series I’ve EVER seen.
Oh my goodness! Your kids are simply adorable! Thank you for sharing :)
If you haven’t watched Queens Gambit on Netflix you must check it out. It’s amazing.
