Hi friends!

It’s been a couple of weeks; I was on hiatus while the kids were on spring break and we were away, but The Weekend Dish is back as we turn the corner to the last stretch before summer is here! Joseph counted yesterday and the kids have (I believe) 21 days of school left 😱

We have sports and Dominic’s First Communion this weekend! I hope you have a wonderful couple of days doing something that makes you happy 🩷

On Brown Eyed Baker This Week

Tall & Flaky Buttermilk Biscuits – Discover the secret to tall, flaky, buttery buttermilk biscuits with this easy homemade recipe. They are wonderful on their own, with a smear of butter or jam, or as a base for sausage gravystrawberry shortcake, or your favorite breakfast sandwich.

Homemade buttermilk biscuits stacked on top of each other on a white plate.

Friday Things #570 – Our spring break, new recipe requests, TV, quotes, and more…

Three kids playing in the surf at the beach during sunrise.

1. Copycat Chipotle Chicken

2. Classic Burger Sauce

3. Grandma's Banana Nut Bread

4. Key Lime Pie

5. My Favorite White Bread Recipe

1. Sunset at Lighthouse Bay Puzzle - The last puzzle that I finished, I loved all of the bright and contrasting colors!

2. The Frozen River - My current read and I am LOVING it.

3. Every Day with Babs – I got this cookbook when it came out last month and I ended up bookmarking nearly the entire book. The recipes are very inline with our family’s tastes and I could see my kids enjoying nearly all of them! I made her homemade sheet pan crunch wraps this week and they were wonderful!

4. Brilliant Travel Puzzle – My new puzzle! I love that it has summer travel vibes ☀️

5. PrepWorks Cake and Cupcake Carrier – I love that you can transport a layer cake in this, but also put in inserts that allow you to use it for 24 cupcakes, as well.

6. Key Lime Juice - This bottled key lime juice is perfect for homemade key lime pie when you can't get your hands on fresh key limes.

7. My Friends - The new novel from Fredrik Backman, who wrote Beartown, which I read at the end of last year. This releases on May 6, 2025.

What I Bookmarked This Week

These chicken Caesar salad sandwiches look unbelievable.

I have a feeling my kids would love this creamy chicken and orzo skillet.

When my mom comes with Dominic and I to New York, she loves getting chicken and rice from the food trucks on the street; I can’t wait to make this street-cart chicken and rice – it looks just like the kind she gets!

Brownie batter poke cake for all of my fellow chocolate lovers!

This vintage lemon angel pie sounds perfect for summer.

Have a delicious weekend!
