Jalapeño Popper Dip
Jalapeno Popper Dip is creamy, cheesy and has just the perfect amount of kick. Great appetizer for your next party or watching the big game!

I love any excuse I can come up with for making, and subsequently devouring, all sorts of delicious dips. You might remember that a little over five years ago, I told you about going to a “dip party” at my friend’s house. That gathering brought us the Buffalo Chicken Dip, Hot Reuben Dip, and the Sausage Dip. It was a seriously genius idea. Chips and dip are one of the few things that leave me unable to stop eating. Once I grab a chip and start dipping, it becomes virtually impossible for me to put on the brakes.
Jalapeno popper dip is one of my all-time favorites… it’s incredibly easy to assemble and will be gone in the blink of an eye.

If you (or anyone you’re serving this to) is sensitive to spicy foods, I would rank this pretty far on the mild side, maybe a 2 or 3? You’d think because of the amount of jalapeño peppers that it might be spicier, but it’s fairly tame, so dip away!

This jalapeño popper dip is everything that makes jalapeño poppers so addicting, and then some. It’s ooey, gooey, creamy, cheesy and spicy. It has bacon. It has a cheesy, buttery breadcrumb crust. It’s dip heaven. And it would definitely go well with a cold beer.
I’m already craving another batch!

Hi Jeff, It makes 6 to 8 servings (yield is in the recipe box above) and yes, you can double the recipe.
Hello Pittsburgher!
I will be making this dip tomorrow night for a wine tasting that I am hosting. I hope that it comes out well; we love jalapeño poppers! Will add a review after making it.
Thanks for the recipe.

Can I make it one night but bake it the next day? Have you ever tried that?
Hi Jennifer, Yes, you could totally do that!
Could I make this in the crock pot?
Hi Kate, You could, but you wouldn’t get that nice browned, crisp topping!
Is this good lukewarm/cold? I have a party to go to and I think this sounds delish but I’m not sure when things will be served so I don’t think it will stay hot.
Thanks!
Hi Julie, I’ve never eaten this cold, but I’ve definitely had it lukewarm/room temperature and I think it’s just fine!
Wow wow & wow!! I tried making this dip for a
Personal touch to one of my parties and it was a plus.
People liked it so much that each guest wanted the recipe.
I was recently requested to make this dip for a wedding and
I got the same response! Thank you!?
Just one word – Amazing !!!
I have been looking for this recipe forever. I have a friend that used to make this for pot lucks but she moved away and I never got the recipe. I tried this one and it is almost identical. I love it. Thanks so much for the great recipe.
What a great take on a classic afterschool snack!

I have a recipe for jalapeno poppers that puts a dap of barbecue sauce on top of each before baking. I made a dip similar to this for watching the Super Bowl and spread a layer of barbecue sauce over the top. It didn’t occur to me to add a crispy topping, maybe I’ll do that next time (which will probably be for the next Super Bowl).
Michelle, this is one of THE best dips I’ve EVER had! Thanks for the fabulous recipe, and also for sharing the pics of your adorable little boy. :)
Kelly
very nice recipe. Thanks for sharing it.
Jalapeño is all that was needed in the title and you grabbed me. Our family loves spicy. This is one for our next get-together. Thank you for sharing.
wow its look delicious…thanks for sharing.
You would have loved my house on Christmas Eve this year – we had a dip contest. So many different kinds of dip! This would fit right in!
I have made this dip about 6 times over the 2 years and it gets rave reviews every time! I do leave some seeds in my jalapenos because I like a little more heat. Great recipe!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe! Thank you so much for sharing it. My hubby doesn’t care too much for jalapenos but he absolutely LOVES this dips! Mahalo plenty :-)
Oh, I also have some roasted green chili’s in my freezer, I think I’ll chop them up and add for extra spice and a bit of smoke.
Any suggestions for substituting for the mayo? I can’t have eggs, but REALLY want to make this! Sour cream? Greek Yogurt? More cream cheese?
Hi Amanda, I haven’t made any of those substitutions, but I think a combination of either the sour cream or Greek yogurt would work.
I tried this and it was great! I would add a little less cheddar than I did though. It got kind of hard and less creamy as it cooled down. Also, I added 8 large jalapeños and it was perfect, but I like the spicier the better. Will definitely use again though!
I made this and it was a huge hit! Took it to a party and I brought home and empty dish. Thank you!!! TIP: Make your life easier and cook the bacon in the oven.
Do you generally leave the seeds/membranes of the jalapenos? or 1/2? or none? Just wanted to make sure it had a bite w/o killing anybody.
Hi Kyle, I de-seed them, but I leave some of the membranes attached. Hope that helps!
Thanks so much; it was definitely a success. I’ll be making this many more times!
If you de-seed or de-membrane the jalapenos, it would be helpful for you to put that in the recipe itself. Most of your recipes specifically call out handling instructions for ingredients. We made this and it was super hot. The whole time I’m thinking… maybe it cooks away… she says it’s a 2-3 on the heat scale. Not so much.
Thanks for this recipe!! I made it for the game today but made a smaller batch to try…..Delicious!!!! Even my sons loved it!
can you double the recipe and cook it and it come out right?
Hi Kim, You can double the recipe, but be sure you use a larger casserole dish. You may need to bake it a little longer, as well.
A co-worker made this for our annual National Cheese Day celebration, and I could have eaten it with a spoon!!! Delicious!
I have made this dip 3 or 4 times now, for football games at our house, and there is NEVER any left before half time! Fantastic recipe, and so easy to throw together too, which is a nice plus! Thanks!
I’m always asked to make my stuffed jalepenos for our parties. I think I’ll
try this dip recipe since it seems so much easier. It’s got all the same ingredients so it has to be good. I can’t wait to try it!
Everyone who knows me, knows I can not stand cream cheese, but guess who what almost licking the empty dish… YES ME !!!! This dip is now MANDATORY at any of our family gatherings…..
Nice post. I learn something totally new and challenging on websites I stumbleupon on a daily
basis. It will always be useful to read articles from other authors and use a
little something from their web sites.
I made this for a party last year. Now my family expects it each time we have a birthday party. Oh, so perfectly good!
