What We Ate This Week
Since we aren’t currently hosting Sunday dinners and there is no menu to share (I’ve been doing some type of pasta for us!), I thought that I would instead share here the things we’ve been eating to provide some inspiration for your meals in the coming week.
Creamy Tortellini Soup with Sausage and Spinach
Boneless pork chops with sauteed mushrooms, roasted potatoes, and cinnamon apples
Orange chicken (frozen from a box from Costco!) with white rice
Roasted chicken quarters, corn on the cob, and oven fries
What I Bookmarked This Week
Recipes and posts from other blogs that I thought looked especially delicious and that I thought you would like, too:
Salt river bars look like the perfect combination of sweet and salty with a lovely dose of caramel and chocolate.
I have steak tips in the freezer and am going to use them to make these teriyaki steak bites.
Oh my goodness, yes! >> Cinnamon-Sugar Cruffins with Nutella
Strawberry rhubarb crumb bars are just what we need to feel normal this spring!
My kids would LOVE these scotcheroos.
Have a delicious weekend!
My biggest grocery worry would be no King Arthur Flour but Walmart and Kroger keep restocking even with the  King Arthur website and Amazon out of stock. We have made crumpets from sourdough discard this last weekend and I love them, split and toasted. My husband prefers King Arthur English muffin toasting bread. We have dry Instant yeast in the freezer. You never have to proof it and use straight from the freezer. We keep two kinds, gold yeast for breads with more sugar.Â
Nice
Hey Michelle, I spent a portion of the weekend thoroughly cleaning out my refrigerator and throwing out expired items. I’d love some tips on storage for produce and fruit. And links to containers if you use some thing especially useful! I always take your recommendations  into consideration for kitchen purchases!
I came here a few years back looking for a recipe for Boston Cream Cake. It was a wonderful recipe and I have made it several times. Seems as when I don’t have a recipe in my mom’s box, this is the site I always go to now! This morning I had fresh blueberries and wanted muffins. OMGoodness! I am never disappointed! I wish I could attach a photo as they are beautiful as they are tasty!
I’ve seen Coca Cola cake recipes around but never tried, probably bc I never have cokes around the house, lol.  Today though, I’m going to try a ginger beer bread recipe.  I’ll add raisins and cinnamon.  Any thoughts or suggestions?  Thank you!
You will, as usual, find a summary of the content that was published to the website this week, a list of the recipes that dordle were shared the most, a description of the food that we have been eating this week, and recipes that I have saved from other food blogs. Enjoy!
My sister gave me this recipe for scotcheroos when my children were little (they are now 40 and 44)! It was a great favorite for neighborhood potlucks, however, we call them Auntie Boo bars after my sister.
Costco orange chicken is a favorite dinner in our house! We always have their mini egg rolls with it.
Hi Michelle! I just wanted to tell you your website has become my very favorite place for recipes! Everything I’ve tried comes out delicious and your recipes are straight forward and easy to follow. Your photography is great too! Plus, I love the fact that no special, exotic ingredients are needed. I also wanted to compliment you on how adorable your kids are, how well cared for they look, and how clean and lovely your home always is. You are a wonderful mom and chef. During this crazy time, I especially look forward to cooking up some of your recipes and seeing pictures of your wonderful family. Stay safe and thank you for all the hard work you put into your recipes and site. Sincerely, Christine p.s. your dogs are just too cute!
