The list below features the ten recipes that have been visited over and over again, garnering thousands of five-star reviews from readers, and are time-tested favorites. They include classic recipes like banana and blueberry, but also other creative and unique flavors that you are going to LOVE!
Before we get to the list, I've also rounded up all of my favorite equipment for making muffins so you can arm yourself with the best tools.
Favorite Muffin Tools
Part of making fabulous muffins is having the right tools for the job! Luckily most muffin recipes are quite simple in terms of preparation, but below are my recommendations for the best equipment for making delicious, beautiful muffins:
- Regular Muffin Pan: USA 12-Well Muffin Pan
- Mini Muffin Pan: USA 24-Well Mini Cupcake and Muffin Pan
- Liners: I usually stick to classic white paper liners.
- All-Purpose Whisk: An 11-inch balloon whisk is perfect for any job.
- The Best Spatula: 11-inch silicone spatula
- Mixing Bowls: I love a classic mixing bowl set for various sizes.
- Carrier: Store or transport muffins in a sturdy carrier. This collapsible carrier can hold 24 muffins or up to a 10-inch round cake.
Now, let's get on to this list! I've been sharing muffin recipes since 2007, and these are the ten that have risen as the best of the best and most beloved among readers. Enjoy!

Here’s my problem with your list – How do I pick which one’s to make? It’s like deciding what to get at a really good bakery. I don’t know about you, but I end up eating WAY more than I should. Probably not a bad thing. Thanks for all the wonderful ideas.
Too hot to bake here, I’d die or risk burning our air con out I fear but they were fun to look at.
Thanks for this post! I do love myself a good muffin from time to time I will say that much! Blueberry is probably by far my most favorite. Boring I know, but I just cannot seem to get enough of them!
My favorite muffins are chocolate – triple if possible! Also, I’m a fan of all muffins that create little or no crumb mess when eaten.
