Hello Saturday!
I hope your weekend is off to a fantastic start! We had some crazy snow yesterday, but it looks like it’s going to be warm(er) weather from here on out. Thank goodness! Hi Michelle! Â That slow cooker Salisbury Steak recipe looks amazing! Â I’m dying to make it but I have a question. Â I have never used the packages of dry gravy mix(I’ve always just made my own gravy which isn’t really my strong suit but oh well.). Â Do you use a particular brand of the dry packs that you have success with? Â I usually avoid that kind of stuff but I am really wanting to try that recipe. Â Thanks for your help and the great posts.Â
Hi Marla, I actually have never used them either!
So, I took the plunge and made this using McCormick gravy mix that I just had my husband pick up from the store. Â It was very easy and everyone loved it. Â Honestly, I tasted it and it was very good but for some weird reason I just have an aversion to those gravy packs. Â It’s ridiculous to be honest with you. Â I try to cook with fresh ingredients but am not perfect 100% of the time by a long stretch and we eat out and carry in so there’s bound to be preservatives and “surprise” ingredients at times. Â I say try it and I think you will all like it. Â I followed the recipe exactly as written except I doubled the gravy (ha! Seems ironic in a way) like some reviewers suggested which made plenty for potatoes and dipping dinner rolls in. I would love a recipe with a substitute for the gravy mix but my family loved this and I would make it again as is unless a healthier gravy (is that an oxymoron) comes along. Â
Those cinnamon rolls do look amazing. And so does your chocolate cake!
