Friday Things #445
1. Playing before the sun comes up… love these three so much 💙💙💖
2. We baked Halloween sugar cookies last week! Decorating is their favorite part 😉
3. These two ❤️
4. Loving this new holiday snowflake Bundt pan!
5. If you have young kids, I love this idea of a “thankful turkey“; we did something similar two years ago with a thankful tree/leaves and are going to do the turkey this year!
6. Today is National Doughnut Day! What’s your favorite kind? My husband and kids think I’m crazy, but I really don’t like doughnuts very much, except I LOVE apple cider doughnuts from the local orchard! If you want to make some fresh doughnuts at home today, give one of these recipes a try >> Copycat Krispy Kreme Doughnuts / Paczki / Vanilla Cream-Filled Doughnuts / Buttermilk Doughnuts
7. Oh man, this article made me feel so old! >> File Not Found But I do understand it… the search function in email is so incredibly useful!
8. Curious if anyone is still using Pinterest these days? It has changed so much and I’d love to know if you’re using it and what you find useful over there?
9. Yellowstone season premiere on Sunday night!!! Who else is watching?
10. TGIF! Duke LOVES laying in the front of the fireplace; as soon as we turn it on, he walks over and curls up 😍
Still use Pinterest every day
I absolutely use Pinterest! Recipes, home decor, the list is too long.
Michelle, there’s a bakery that has Yellowstone cookies in honor of the show’s new season. The very talented owner of the bakery, Leslie, won a Cookie Challenge Food Network show a few years ago. Delicious baked goods and pierogis. Is worth checking out their page on Facebook,
Stan’s Northfield Bakery in Northfield, OH.
I don’t really like doughnuts either. But, Entenmann’s has a pumpkin doughnut this time of year that are sooooooo good!
Ooooh I LOVE Entenmann’s chocolate doughnuts. Any time we go to the beach, my father-in-law always buys them to keep on the kitchen counter. They forever remind me of vacation :)
Love your blog and wonderful photos! I use Pinterest a LOT for recipes ( so many from you! 😀) I also love it for homemade greeting card ideas – I’ve made my own for every possible occasion for over 15 years and Pinterest is a great place to organize. “File Not Found” was right up my alley!
I love many of your recipes & please keep sending the Friday posts of your beautiful family! I look forward to seeing those pictures!
File Not Found was interesting. I always made lots of folders in my email when I worked and saved everything which came in useful. The search function in email is very useful but sometimes I still can’t find things because the email address or subject is different to what you’d think it was. That’s when folders are useful.
Re: Pinterest…I still use it and also have many different “boards” but again the search function is also useful. I save a lot of recipes and even try a few 😂.
I love doughnuts including Kristy Kreme and Tim Horton’s…so many to choose from. I tried Yellowstone but couldn’t get into it. One of my cats is like Duje, loves the fireplace and curling up in front of it.
We made Halloween cookies using your Chocolate Sugar Cookie recipe and they turned out great. I baked the cookies before the kids came over & they had fun decorating them. Thanks for another great recipe!
What a great idea using the chocolate version! I wish I had thought of that, LOL! 🤣
I still love Pinterest and save all your recipes on it. Last night I searched for a quick skillet meal and I made a skillet chicken Alfredo with leftover chicken. Thanks for the turkey idea, my grandkids will enjoy it!
I still use Pinterest for recipes and craft ideas.
I still use Pinterest, mostly for recipes and travel ideas. Not so happy with the feed. It decides what I want to look at, and so all I see are similar to what I’ve viewed or pinned. I liked it much better when there were a couple dozen categories to choose from. So even though I’m not a big decorator, I could easily browse idea. If I was having a crappy day, I’d look at the Humor feed.
Hi from sunny London! I still use Pinterest for craft ideas. What do you use instead? Just google it? If there’s a better platform, please share as I don’t know of any others like Pinterest. Enjoy the autumn!
I don’t have a better platform or use anything in place of it, I just know that some people haven’t been happy with how it functions lately, so I was just checking to see if my readers still use it :)
Yes – still a Pinterest user. Mainly for recipes, but was also very helpful for ideas when we did a bathroom remodel. I think of it as my online filing cabinet. Probably use it a couple of times a week.
I still use Pinterest, mostly for recipes. I’m with Brenda though; I don’t like how it populates my feed with things I’ve already looked at. I preferred the categories.
I love the pictures of your kids and dogs. We have a golden as well who is the biggest sweetheart ever!
I do still use Pinterest! It is how I save new recipes that I want to try in addition to where I save all the recipes that I already have tried and make again.
Still using Pinterest I like to save favorite recipes to try and search for things that really interest me. Quilting, Baking, Art etc
I use Pinterest daily and cannot imagine being without it. While mainly for recipes, I use it for home decorating ideas as well as garden/landscape pictures that inspire me. We have a vacation home where we spend months at a time. Being able to have the recipes on my phone is so much easier than dragging stacks of printed recipes.
(I also use Dropbox.) The ads on Pinterest have become annoying but not enough to give it up.
I used to do a large “Thankful Turkey” in my K classroom and then the kids would each make a smaller one to take home. IT was fun and a good activity for a group writing session…generating the ideas together and interactively writing the ideas on the feathers… an individual wring activity and a craft project too.We kept our classroom turkey up long after Thanksgiving as a reminder of always giving thanks .
Duke looks so content in front of the fireplace…handsome man.
Thanks for sharing your sweet little family.
Hi Michelle, And a very Happy Friday to you and your family! As always, the pictures of your three adorable kids melts our hearts. They are so sweet together. Hubby and I are really looking forward to the Season Premiere of “Yellowstone”, and we’ve been enjoying watching the re-runs that have been airing every night this week. Have a great weekend and keep warm!
I use Pinterest daily. I store most of my recipes on it and pin new ones I want to try. I also use it for decorating inspiration. I would be devastated if it went away!
I use Pinterest all the time. When I make a weekly meal plan, that is where I go. I pin at least one recipe a day. Can’t wait for Yelllowstone!
Yes – Pinterest is my only “social media” though I only pin the posts of others and mostly recipes. It is where I go to save the recipes I want to keep and search for ideas if I have a recipe topic or idea in mind.. then I usually combine ideas from several recipes (unless they are yours – yours are golden as written!).
Decided to have a look over on your youtube channel the other day and found a video of Joseph, the one where he was pushing the chair across the kitchen i think. Remembered it from when you posted it originally on Friday things, still made me giggle aloud!
Thankyou for sharing your family with us : )
