Goodbye turkey and all the trimmings… hello cookies, candy and homemade food gifts. Although the stores seem to usher in the Christmas holiday season earlier and earlier every year, for me it officially begins the weekend after Thanksgiving. Suddenly, houses sparkle with lights, wreaths adorn doorways, Christmas music is on repeat, and I begin to think about all of the goodies I want to bake in the coming weeks. Right now the first thing on my list is a new dishwasher. Mine sounds like a jet engine and I can’t run it when I am home or it drives me crazy!

Great list, but…I always make your hot fudge sauce and salted caramel sauce for gifts and neither is very easy to find.

I positively adore this website, some of the most complimented recipes I’ve had on my cooking came from here- thanks for doing this! Side note: What is the white item on the top picture- it’s the picture on the bottom-most right side- looks like a bar of some sort with nuts? in it- kinda looks like Divinity?

Hi Cheryl, That’s torrone – a traditional Italian candy, very much like nougat.

Really Appreciable List. I am just crazy to know about different – different types of cookies. From above some cookies are completely new to me. I would like to make them soon.

ok…I’m getting frustrated. I keep clicking on the various cookie recipes, but none of them are the cookies pictured in the bottom left hand picture. The dough (that looks like it was done in a mini-muffin tin) with a mini-peanut butter cup in it. could you please tell me which cookies these are? I would love to make them.

The buckeye cookies and snickerdoodle cupcakes (although I make them with cream cheese frosting) are fabulous! Just made them both for a party-not the first time!

So, I made the salted caramel chocolate chip cookie bars on Thursday night (the 5th) for a bake-off competition within my department at work on Friday…and guess who won!!!! Everyone loved the bars, it was (no joke) a landslide victory! I’ve already shared your recipe and blog with so many people, those bars are amazing! In fact, my mom is making them this weekend for a cookie share with friends. I’ve made tons of your recipes and have loved each of them! But I wanted to share that those bars are now ‘award winning’! ;) Thank you for all your recipes!
